Abstract

The twenty-eighth edition of the Workshop on Requirements Engineering (WER 2025), hosted at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 20th to 22th, 2025, brought together researchers and practitioners from across academia and industry. Over three vibrant days, discussions spanned key themes such as usability, transparency, data protection, natural language processing, sustainability, accessibility, technical debt, and security requirements. This year, 28 articles were presented as full papers. Following a thorough review by at least three committee members per submission. The event featured five tracks: Research, Industry, Master's and Doctoral, Software Requirements Tools, Tutorials. Distinguished keynote speakers included Marcos Kalinowski from PUC-Rio, offering unique insights into cutting-edge challenges in Requirements Engineering.
